Removal Procedure
- Remove the 14 plastic retaining clips which secure the rear door interior trim panel (1).
- Remove the rear door interior trim panel (1).
- Pull the water deflector away from the rear door.
- Disconnect the 2 license plate lamp electrical connectors.
- Remove the 2 mounting nuts from the license plate lamp cover (1).
- Pull the license plate lamp cover (1) from the rear door (2).
- Remove the 2 grommets from the rear door.
- Pull the license plate lamp wiring through the holes.
- Remove the license plate lamp cover (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Feed the license plate lamp wiring through the 2 holes in the rear door (2).
- Install the 2 grommets.
- Install the license plate lamp cover (1) to the rear door (2). Secure the license plate lamp cover (1) with the 2 mounting nuts.
- Inspect the water deflector for tears or holes.
- Use waterproof tape on both sides of any tears or holes.
- Apply adhesive to the back of the water deflector.
- Install the water deflector to the rear door.
- Install the rear door interior trim panel (1) to the vehicle. Secure the trim panel (1) with the 14 retaining clips.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the license plate lamp cover mounting nuts to 10 N·m
(89 lb in).
