Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Ground (Negative) Disconnect Notice in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the battery (positive) cable.
  3. Remove the battery (positive) cable nut and cable from the accessory wiring junction block.
  4. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable bolt from the inner fender.
  5. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable nut and cable from the transaxle stud.
  6. Remove the battery (positive) cable from the starter motor "BAT" terminal.
  7. Remove the battery ground (negative) and battery (positive) cable retainers from the lower tie bar.

  8. Object Number: 161298  Size: SH
  9. Remove the battery ground (negative) and battery (positive) cables from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the battery ground (negative) and the battery (positive) cables to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 161298  Size: SH
  3. Install the battery ground (negative) and battery (positive) cable retainers form the lower tie bar.
  4. Install the battery (positive) cable to the starter motor "BAT" terminal.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten battery ground (negative) cable nut to 10   N·m (89  lb  in).

  6. Install the battery ground (negative) cable and nut to the transaxle stud.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten battery ground (negative) cable nut to 25   N·m (18  lb  ft).

  8. Install the battery ground (negative) cable and bolt to the inner fender.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten battery ground (negative) bolt to 10  N·m (89  lb   in).

  10. Install battery (positive) cable and nut to accessory wiring junction block.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten battery (positive) bolt to 16  N·m (12  lb  ft).

  12. Install battery (positive) cable to battery.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten battery (positive) cable to 15  N·m 11   lb   ft).

  14. Install the battery ground (negative) cable.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten battery ground (negative) cable to 15  N·m 11   lb   ft).
