Tools Required

DW110-070 Crossmember Support Fixture

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the front wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
3. Remove the exhaust pipe forward of the catalytic converter. Refer to Front Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
4. Disconnect the stabilizer link from the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .



5. Disconnect the ball joint from the knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement .
6. Remove the rack and pinion assembly. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement in Power Steering System.
7. Remove the engine mounting reaction lower rod.



8. Attach the DW110-070 on the transaxle jack.
9. Support the crossmember with the DW110-070  (1).



10. Remove the crossmember-to-body front bolts.
11. Remove the crossmember-to-body rear bolts.
12. Remove the crossmember assembly from the vehicle.

1. Install the crossmember assembly to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the crossmember-to-body rear bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the crossmember-to-body rear bolt to 196 N·m (145 lb ft).

3. Install the crossmember-to-body front bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the crossmember-to-body front bolt to 196 N·m (145 lb ft).




4. Install the engine mounting reaction lower rod.
5. Install the rack and pinion assembly.
6. Connect the ball joint to the knuckle.



7. Connect the stabilizer link to the stabilizer shaft.
8. Install the exhaust pipe to the catalytic converter.
9. Install the front wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
