Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement.
  2. Remove the generator and air conditioning compressor and power steering pump belt. Refer to Generator and Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement.
  3. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement.
  4. Remove the belt idler pulley. Refer to Belt Idler Pulley Replacement.
  5. Remove the crankshaft pulley. Refer to Crankshaft Pulley Replacement.

  6. Object Number: 2027080  Size: SH
  7. Remove the 6 timing belt lower front cover bolts (2).
  8. Remove the timing belt lower front cover (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2027080  Size: SH
  1. Install the timing belt lower cover (1).
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the 6 timing belt lower front cover bolts and tighten to  11 N·m (97 lb in).
  4. Install the crankshaft pulley. Refer to Crankshaft Pulley Replacement.
  5. Install the belt idler pulley. Refer to Belt Idler Pulley Replacement.
  6. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement.
  7. Install the generator and air conditioning compressor and power steering pump belt. Refer to Generator and Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement.
  8. Install the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement.
