Special Tools

EN 6625 Crankshaft Locking Device

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools.

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Raise the vehicle by its full height. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  3. Remove the front compartment splash shield. Refer to LINK.
  4. Remove the generator and air conditioning compressor belt tensioner. Refer to LINK.

  5. Object Number: 2026543  Size: SH
  6. Remove bolt (1).

  7. Object Number: 2027000  Size: SH
  8. Install EN 6625 locking device  (2) to block the crankshaft.
  9. Install bolt (1).

  10. Object Number: 2027569  Size: SH
  11. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt (1).
  12. Remove the crankshaft balancer (2).

  13. Object Number: 2027573  Size: SH
  14. Remove the 4 lower timing belt cover bolts (2).
  15. Remove the lower timing belt cover (1).

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2027573  Size: SH
  1. Install the lower timing belt cover (1).
  2. Install the 4  lower timing belt cover bolts (2) and tighten to  6 N·m (54 lb in).

  3. Object Number: 2027569  Size: SH
  4. Install the crankshaft balancer (2).
  5. Install the NEW crankshaft balancer bolt (1) and tighten to  95 N·m (71 lb ft) + 45 degrees + 15 degrees.

  6. Object Number: 2027000  Size: SH
  7. Remove bolt and nut (1).
  8. Remove EN 6625 locking device  (2) to block the crankshaft.

  9. Object Number: 2026543  Size: SH
  10. Install bolt (1) and tighten to  XX N·m (XX lb ft).
  11. Install the generator and air conditioning compressor belt tensioner. Refer to LINK.
  12. Install the front compartment splash shield. Refer to LINK.
  13. Lower the vehicle by its full height.
  14. Close the hood.
