Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 2027678  Size: SH

    Caution: Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic wire, or equivalent, whenever it is separated from its mount and the hydraulic flexible brake hose is still connected. Failure to support the caliper in this manner will cause the flexible brake hose to bear the weight of the caliper, which may cause damage to the brake hose and in turn may cause a brake fluid leak.

  4. Remove the wheel speed sensor bolt.
  5. Remove the wheel speed sensor.
  6. Remove the wheel speed sensor wiring harness from the steering knuckle.
  7. Loosen the wheel drive shaft from the wheel bearing/hub. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side.

  9. Remove the wheel bearing/hub mounting bolts.

  10. Object Number: 2027685  Size: SH
  11. Remove the wheel bearing/hub and Front Brake Shield from the steering knuckle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2027685  Size: SH
  1. Position the front brake shield and wheel bearing/hub assembly in the steering knuckle.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: This is a self-retaining fastener joint that does not require thread locking compounds. Do not attempt to clean the threads with a standard tap. If a standard tap is used, damage to the joint threads will occur.

  3. Install the wheel bearing/hub mounting bolts and tighten to  xx N·m (XX lb in)

  4. Object Number: 2027655  Size: SH
  5. Install the wheel speed sensor wiring harness at the steering knuckle.
  6. Install the wheel speed sensor.
  7. Install the wheel speed sensor bolt. and tighten to  XX N·m (XX lb in).
  8. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement.
  9. Install the wheel drive shaft retaining nut and washer. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side.
  10. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
