Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Warning: Refer to Checking Hot Transmission Fluid through Drain Plug Hole Warning in the Preface section.

  3. With the vehicle on a level surface and the fluid in the transaxle cold, remove the transmission oil drain plug (1) and check the fluid level. The fluid should come to the bottom edge of the plug hole.

  4. Object Number: 2027583  Size: SH
  5. If the level is low, add manual transmission fluid through the filler plug hole (1) until the fluid begins to run out.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Install the transmission oil drain plug (1) and tighten to xx N·m(xx lb in).
  2. If the fluid is contaminated, drain the oil after removing the differential gear cover. Refer to Transmission Fluid Replacement.
  3. Lower the vehicle.
