This procedure is an addition to the service information included in Section 6E of the 1989/ 90 GEO Tracker Service Manuals (ST377-89 and 8T377-90). Follow this procedure when service of the PCV breather hose is necessary.

Remove or Disconnect
1. Breather hose protectors from breather hose assembly.
2. Breather hose assembly by removing three clamps: one at cylinder head cover, one at air intake and one at PCV valve.

Install or Connect
* Reposition PCV valve protector.
1. Breather hose assembly by installing three clamps: one at cylinder head cover, one at air intake and one at PCV valve.
*IMPORTANT: Always use new breather hose protectors whenever service to the breather hose is required.
2. New breather hose protectors to breather hoses by removing clear film from inside of protectors exposing self-adhesive surfaces.
*IMPORTANT: The center breather hose protector: the one which is positioned directly above the PCV valve, is shorter on one side than the other. Be sure to install the short side of this protector toward the front of the vehicle (Figure 1).
