Crankshaft Balancer Replacement With CTF

Removal Procedure

  1. Tilt the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cables. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  3. Remove the drive belts.
  4. Remove the bolts and washers from the crankshaft damper pulley.
  5. Remove the crankshaft damper pulley from the crankshaft.
  6. Inspect the crankshaft pulley for excessive wear, damage or rubber crack. If the crankshaft pulley shows signs of wear, damage or rubber crack, replace the crankshaft pulley.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the crankshaft pulley to the crankshaft.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the crankshaft pulley bolt and washer.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt and washer to 200 N·m (148 lb ft).

  5. Install the drive belts.
  6. Connect the negative battery cables. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  7. Lower the cab.

Crankshaft Balancer Replacement Without CTF

Removal Procedure

  1. Tilt the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cables. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  3. Remove the drive belts. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  4. Remove the bolts and washers from the crankshaft damper pulley.
  5. Remove the crankshaft damper pulley from the crankshaft.
  6. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt and washers from the crankshaft.
  7. Inspect the crankshaft pulley for excessive wear, damage or rubber crack. If the crankshaft pulley shows signs of wear, damage or rubber crack, replace the crankcase pulley.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the crankshaft pulley to the crankshaft.
  2. Install the crankshaft pulley bolt and washer.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt and washer to 200 N·m (148 lb ft).

  4. Install the drive belts. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  5. Connect the negative battery cables. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  6. Lower the cab.
