Diagnostic Instructions
Circuit/System Description
The hazard flashers may be activated in any power mode. The turn signal hazard flasher module controls the vehicle turn signals and hazard warning flashers based on inputs from the turn signal/multifunction switch. When the hazard switch is
activated, ground from G400 is applied through both turn signal switch signal circuits to the turn signal hazard flasher module indicating the hazard flasher ON request. The module will then apply a pulsating battery voltage to the left and right turn signal
lamp control circuits, cycling all turn signal lamps, and both instrument panel cluster (IPC) turn signal indicators ON and OFF.

Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition ON, command the left and right turn signals ON and OFF using the turn signal multifunction switch. The exterior turn signal lamps and the IPC turn signal indicators should turn ON and OFF when changing between commanded states.
- Activate the hazard warning flasher switch. All turn signal lamps should cycle ON and OFF until the hazard switch is turned OFF.
⇒ | If hazard lamps are always ON or always OFF, replace the turn signal multifunction switch. |
