1. Washer Inoperative 2. Washers Always ON |
The windshield wiper washer switch controls the washer pump motor. When a wash cycle is requested ignition voltage is applied through the washer switch contacts to the washer pump control circuit activating the washer pump motor. The washer pump control circuit is monitored by the body control module (BCM) inorder to command low speed wipers on when a wash request is made. The washer pump motor has a constant ground at G102.

Turn ignition ON, operate the windshield washer switch. The washers should operate normally and low speed wipers should wipe 3 to 5 times for a mist washer cycle.
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the Ignition 1 voltage circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, check the washer pump control circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance |
⇒ | If not the specified value, check the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. if all the circuits test normal replace the Windshield Wiper/Washer switch |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the controll circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the ground circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the windshield wiper washer switch. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, replace the windshield wiper washer switch. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, replace the windshield wiper washer switch. |
⇒ | If the washer pump does not activate , replace the washer pump. |
