Problem

Action

The cylinder head or the air compressor discharge pipe is restricted.

Remove the restriction or clean.

The bearings are worn.

Refer to Air Compressor Replacement or call 1-800-AIR-BRAK (1-800-247-2725).

The air compressor is not getting the proper lubrication.

Check the engine lubrication system, the air compressor oil inlet hose, and the air compressor oil outlet hose, (if equipped). Repair or replace as needed.

The air compressor crankshaft is worn too much.

Refer to Air Compressor Replacement or call 1-800-AIR-BRAK (1-800-247-2725).

The air compressor gear is worn out or loose.

    • Replace the worn out air compressor gear.
    •  If damage to the air compressor gear mounting surface or keyway is detected, replace the air compressor. Refer to Air Compressor Replacement .

Air compressor pulley.

    • Replace the worn out air compressor pulley
    •  If damage to the air compressor pulley mounting surface or keyway is detected, replace the air compressor. Refer to Air Compressor Replacement .
