Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electical.
  2. Remove the assist handle bolts.

  3. Object Number: 229889  Size: SH
  4. Remove the assist handle.

  5. Object Number: 588991  Size: SH
  6. Remove the instrument panel right lower trim.

  7. Object Number: 229897  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the blower resistor electrical connectors.
  9. Remove the blower resistor screws.

  10. Object Number: 229930  Size: SH
  11. Remove the blower motor resistor.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 229930  Size: SH
  1. Install the blower motor resistor.
  2. Install the blower motor resistor screws.

  3. Object Number: 229897  Size: SH
  4. Connect the blower resistor electrical connectors.

  5. Object Number: 588991  Size: SH
  6. Install the instrument panel right lower trim.

  7. Object Number: 229889  Size: SH
  8. Install the assist handle.
  9. Install the assist handle bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  11. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
