Removal Procedure
  1. Tilt the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting in General Information.
  2. Discharge and recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

    3. Object Number: 229717 Size: SH
  3. Remove the receiver dehydrator electrical connector from the receiver dehydrator pressure switch.

    4. Object Number: 229725 Size: SH
  4. Remove the evaporator hose.
  5. Remove the O-ring seal from the condenser.
  6. Discard the O-ring seal.
  7. Remove the two clamp bracket screws.
  8. Disconnect the condenser tube from the receiver dehydrator.
  9. Remove the O-ring seal.
  10. Discard the O-ring seal.
  11. Remove the receiver dehydrator clamp screw.
  12. Remove the receiver dehydrator from the receiver dehydrator clamp.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the receiver dehydrator into the receiver dehydrator clamp.
  2. Install the clamp screw loosely.
  3. Coat the new O-ring seal. Use 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
  4. Install the new O-ring seal.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Connect the condenser tube to the receiver dehydrator.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the condenser tube to the receiver dehydrator fitting to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  6. Install the two clamp bracket screws.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp bracket screws to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

    Tighten
    Tighten the receiver dehydrator clamp bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Coat the new O-ring seal. Use 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
  8. Install the new O-ring seal.
  9. Install the evaporator hose fitting to the dehydrator.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  10. Install the receiver dehydrator electrical connector to the receiver dehydrator pressure switch.
  11. Charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  12. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing .
  13. Lower the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting in General Information.
