Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 229889  Size: SH
  1. Remove the assist handle bolts.
  2. Remove the assist handle.

  3. Object Number: 229927  Size: SH
  4. Remove the instrument panel lower trim.
  5. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the mode actuator and the temperature actuator.
  7. Remove the lower duct.
  8. Remove the heater cores. Refer to Heater Core Replacement .
  9. Remove the evaporator core if equipped. Refer to Evaporator Core Replacement .
  10. Remove the heater vent module (Right Side).

  11. Object Number: 397476  Size: SH
  12. Remove the heater vent module (Left Side).

  13. Object Number: 574888  Size: SH
  14. Remove the mode actuator to the mode valve lever rod.
  15. Remove the mode actuator mounting screws and actuator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 574888  Size: SH
  1. Install the mode actuator and the mounting screws.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  3. Install the mode valve lever rod to the mode actuator.

  4. Object Number: 397476  Size: SH
  5. Install the heater vent module (Left Side).

  6. Object Number: 229927  Size: SH
  7. Install the heater vent module (Right Side).
  8. Install the heater cores. Refer to Heater Core Replacement .
  9. Install the evaporator core if equipped. Refer to Evaporator Core Replacement .
  10. Install the lower duct.
  11. Connect the electrical connectors to the mode actuator and the temperature actuator.
  12. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  13. Install the instrument panel lower trim.

  14. Object Number: 229889  Size: SH
  15. Install the assist handle.
  16. Install the assist handle bolts.
  17. Tighten
    Tighten the assist handle bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
