Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Left Front AQQ, AQR
Removal Procedure
- Remove the seat belt locking cable bolt from the floor panel
if equipped. Discard the bolt.
- Remove the seat belt bracket and the locking cable from the vehicle
if equipped.
- For the low back seat
belt bracket mounting, remove the seat belt locking cable bolt from the
floor panel if equipped. Discard the bolt.
- For the low back seat belt bracket mounting, remove the seat belt
bracket and the locking cable from the vehicle if equipped.
- For the high back seat
belt mounting, remove the buckle side mounting bolt.
- For the high back seat belt mounting, remove the buckle side mounting.
- For the low back seat
belt mounting, remove the buckle side mounting bolt.
- For the low back seat belt mounting, remove the buckle side mounting.
- Remove the seat belt bolt
sealers. Discard the sealers.
Installation Procedure
- Install the NEW seat belt
bolt sealers.
- For the low back seat
belt mounting, install the buckle side mounting.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- For the low back
seat belt mounting, install the buckle side mounting bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the low back seat belt buckle side bolt to 40 N·m
(30 lb ft).
- For the high back seat
belt mounting, install the buckle side mounting.
- For the high back seat belt mounting, install the buckle side
mounting bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the high back seat belt buckle side bolt to 90 N·m
(66 lb ft).
- Inspect the bolts after installation.
- Ensure that a minimum of two threads protrude beyond the nut or
the anchor plate.
