DEFINITION: With the headlamp switch in the PARK position, the taillamps illuminate but the IP lamps are inoperative.

1. Disconnect connector C3, from the IP cluster.
2. Connect a DMM between terminal 2 in the cluster harness connector C3 and the IP dimmer buss.

Does the DMM indicate continuity?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 2

Repair the open in CKT 3 (BLK/RED) between terminal A in the IP lamp dimmer buss connector and terminal 2 in the C3 IP cluster harness connector.

Is the open repaired?

--

System OK

--

Connect a test lamp between terminal 1 in the C3 IP cluster harness connector and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Repair the open in CKT 2 (BRN) between S272 and terminal 1 in the IP cluster harness connector.

Is the open repaired?

--

System OK

--

1. Disconnect the harness connector C1, from the IP cluster.
2. Connect a test lamp between terminal 9 in the IP cluster harness connector C1 and terminal 1 in the IP cluster harness connector C3.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Replace the IP cluster.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Locate and repair the open in CKT 4 (BLK) between G105 and terminal 9 in the IP cluster harness connector.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK
