Schematic Reference: Exterior Lights Schematics

DEFINITION:The right or left turn signal lamps are always illuminated and flashing.

Did you review the exterior lighting operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

Verify that the turn signal lever is not in the LEFT or RIGHT turn positions.

   • 

Observe the turn signal lamps.

Are the turn signal lamps OFF?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Disconnect the turn signal/hazard switch connector C1.

Do the turn signal lamps illuminate and flash?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Test the turn input circuit of the appropriate side for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Replace the multifunction switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

Replace the hazard flasher.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
