Did you review the system operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Symptoms - Instrument Panel, Gages and Console

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Measure the battery voltage and compare voltage with the volt gauge display in the IPC.

Does the volt gauge indicate approximately the same value as the battery voltage?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Test the ignition voltage circuit of the volt gauge for an open or a high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 4

Test the ground circuit of the volt gauge for an open or a high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
