Did you review the system operation and perform the necessary inspections?

    • Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
    • Observe the CHECK GAUGES indicator in the IPC.

Does the indicator illuminate during the displays test?

Does the CHECK GAUGES indicator illuminate in the IPC with a low fuel condition?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

    • Turn OFF the ignition.
    • Disconnect the multifunction alarm module (MFAM).
    • Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the MFAM check gauges indicator control circuit and a good ground.
    • Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the CHECK GAUGES indicator illuminate in the IPC?

Test the check gauges fuel indicator control circuit for an open or a high resistance between the IPC and S262. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the MFAM check gauges indicator control circuit for an open or a high resistance between the MFAM and the IPC. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the IPC. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
