For 1990-2009 cars only

Replace the wheels if the following conditions exist:

    â€¢ Bends
    â€¢ Dents
    â€¢ Excessive lateral or radial runout
    â€¢ Air leaks through the welds
    â€¢ Elongated bolt holes
    â€¢ The wheel nuts will not stay tight.
    â€¢ Excessive rust

Wheels with excessive runout may cause objectionable vibrations.

Replacement wheels must be equivalent to the original equipment wheels in the following areas:

    â€¢ Load capacity
    â€¢ Diameter
    â€¢ Rim width
    â€¢ Offset
    â€¢ Mounting configuration

A wheel of improper size or type may affect the following conditions:

    â€¢ Wheel and bearing life
    â€¢ Brake cooling
    â€¢ Speedometer/odometer calibration
    â€¢ Vehicle ground clearance
    â€¢ Tire clearance to the body and chassis

Steel wheels can be identified by a two or three-letter code stamped into the rim near the valve stem. Aluminum wheels have the code, part number, and manufacturer ID cast into the back of the wheel.
