Removal Procedure

The fixed antenna is designed to withstand most car washes without damage. The fixed antenna cannot be adjusted up or down. If the mast becomes slightly bent, straighten the mast by hand. The antenna requires replacement if severely bent.

  1. Remove the antenna mast from the base.

  2. Object Number: 278034  Size: SH
  3. Remove the rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement in Body Rear End.
  4. Remove the base to the panel brace screws.
  5. Disconnect the lead-in (2) from the base assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the lead-in (2) to the base (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the base to panel brace screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Corner Trim Panel Carpet Replacement in Body Rear End.

  7. Connect the antenna mast to the base.
