Important: A short to ground will cause an open fuse(s). Before performing this diagnostic procedure, inspect the fuse(s) for an open.

Did you perform the Instrument Cluster System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the instrument panel cluster (IPC) connector and remove the connector combs.
  3. Backprobe in order to prevent damage to the terminal with a test lamp between CKT 15 (DK BLU) cavity B10 (Oldsmobile); A2 (Pontiac) to ground.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  5. Turn the right turn signal ON.

Did the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 3

Go to Turn Signal Lamps Inoperative - Left or Right Side in Lighting Systems

Inspect the turn signal bulb. If the bulb is OK, replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
