Important: A short to ground will cause an open fuse(s). Before Performing this diagnostic procedure, inspect the fuse(s) for an open.

  1. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver.
  2. Move either power door lock switch in the LOCK position.
  3. Connect a fused jumper from the remote control door lock receiver CKT 694 (TAN) cavity A to ground.
  4. Keep the jumper connected for the remainder of the test.

Does the left front power door lock motor lock?

Replace the remote control door lock receiver.

Is the replacement complete?

--

Go to Step 3

Reprogram the replacement remote control door lock receiver to the transmitter. Refer to Transmitter Programming .

Is the reprogramming complete?

--

System OK

  1. Disconnect the left side front door lock motor connector.
  2. Place either of the power door lock switch in the LOCK position.
  3. Connect a test lamp from CKT 295 (GRY) cavity A to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

  1. Place either of the power door lock switches in the LOCK position.
  2. Connect a test lamp between CKT 294 (TAN) cavity B and CKT 295 (GRY) cavity A at the left side front door lock motor.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in CKT 295 (GRY) between the left front power door lock motor and splice S228.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

Replace the left front door lock motor.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

Repair the open in CKT 294 or CKT 694 (TAN) from the left front power door lock motor connector to the remote control door lock receiver.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK
