Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Important: When removing a door trim panel or switch plate, disconnect the negative battery terminal. This will eliminate the possibility of shorting out the switch if you use a screwdriver, an awl, or a metal object in order to remove the switch from the harness.

  3. Unclip the power connect switch from the front door armrest (with power windows).
  4. Remove the window regulator handle, if equipped. Refer to Door Window Regulator Handle Replacement
  5. Remove the inside door handle bezel. Refer to Door Handle Bezel Replacement
  6. Remove the trunk release switch bezel.
  7. Pry off with a flat-bladed tool.

  8. Gently unclip the front door trim from the door, disengaging the retaining clips.
  9. Disconnect the door lock switch electrical connector (if equipped).
  10. Remove the front door trim (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front door trim (1) to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the door lock switch electrical connector, if equipped.
  3. Position the front door trim panel onto the door and press the retaining clips into place.
  4. Install the trunk release switch bezel.
  5. Press into place.

  6. Install the inside door handle bezel. Refer to Door Handle Bezel Replacement .
  7. Install the window regulator handle to the door. Refer to Door Window Regulator Handle Replacement .
  8. Connect the power connect switch to the front door armrest (with power windows).
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
