Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors, and pull wiring free of
the door.
- Support the door.
- Remove the check link bolt. Refer to
Rear Side Door Check Link Replacement
.
- Remove the bolts which connect the hinge
to the door (1).
- Remove the bolts which connect the hinge
to the B-pillar.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the hinge to the B-pillar.
Secure with bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the hinge-to-door jamb bolts to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).
- Install the door to the hinges. Secure
with bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the door-to-hinge bolts to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).
- Install the door check link. Refer to
Rear Side Door Check Link Replacement
- Feed the door wiring through the hole in the door jamb and connect
the electrical connector, if equipped.
- Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
