- Install the oil pan, gasket
and bolts.
- Position spacer between oil pan and transmission, but allow clearance
to tighten oil pan bolt directly above the spacer.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Tighten the oil
pan bolts as shown in the illustration.
Tighten
• | Tighten the M8 x 1.25 x 80 bolt (1)
to 24 N·m (18 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the M8 x 1.25 x 22 bolt (2)
to 24 N·m (18 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the M6 x 1.00 x 25 bolt (3)
to 12 N·m (106 lb in). |
• | Tighten the oil pan to housing bolt (4) to 26 N·m
(19 lb ft). |
- Install the stud which secures the oil pan to the transmission.
- Install the nut and bolt to secure oil pan to transmission.
Tighten
• | Tighten bolt to 100 N·m (74 lb ft). |
• | Tighten nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft). |
- Raise frame to original position.
- Install right side frame bolts.
Tighten
Tighten frame bolts to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).
- Remove frame support jack.
- Install front and rear transmission mount nuts/bolts.
Tighten
Tighten nuts/bolts to 120 N·m (89 lb ft).
- Install tie rod and castle nut to steering knuckle.
Tighten
Tighten nut to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Install ball joint and castle nut to steering knuckle.
Tighten
Tighten nut to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).
- Install the radiator outlet pipe. Refer to
Engine Coolant Inlet Pipe Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
- Install the brace which supports the transmission to the engine.
Tighten
Tighten the engine to transmission brace bolts to 50 N·m
(37 lb ft) in sequence.
- Install the A/C compressor bolts. Refer to
Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement
in HVAC Systems - Manual.
- Install the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement
.
- Install the flywheel inspection shield.
- Install the engine splash shields. Refer to
Engine Splash Shield Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Install the right front wheel and tire assembly.
- Install lower closeout panel.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the engine support fixture. Refer to
Engine Support Fixture
.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
- Fill the crankcase with oil to the appropriate level. Use recommended
oil. Refer to
Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
