Removal Procedure
- Remove the intake manifold
top cover.
- Remove the solenoid quick-connect
hose (3) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid (4).
- Remove the solenoid quick-connect hose (7) from the EVAP canister
purge solenoid (4) to the enhanced EVAP service port (8).
- Remove the electrical connector (6) at the EVAP canister purge
solenoid.
- Remove the EVAP canister purge (2) solenoid valve bolt.
- Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid tab from the bracket (5).
Installation Procedure
- Install the EVAP canister
purge solenoid valve (4) to the bracket (5).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the EVAP canister purge (2)
solenoid valve bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (88 lb in).
- Install the solenoid quick-connect hose (3) at the EVAP canister
purge solenoid.
- Install the solenoid quick-connect hose (7) from the EVAP canister
purge solenoid to the enhanced EVAP service port.
- Install the electrical connector (6) to the EVAP canister purge
solenoid.
- Install the intake manifold
top cover.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
