- Remove the oil pan.
- Remove and discard the gasket from the oil pan, if present.
Installation Procedure
- Reseal the oil pan. Refer to

.
- Install the exhaust crossover pipe (4).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the exhaust crossover retaining bolts into the left exhaust manifold (5) flange and the exhaust manifold rear pipe (5).
Tighten
Tighten the exhaust crossover retaining bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the transmission assembly. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Automatic Transmission.
- Refill the engine oil. Oil capacity is 6.65 liters (7 quarts) without a filter change and 7.1 liters (7.5 quarts) with an oil filter change.
