  1. Park the vehicle on level ground.
  2. Inspect the tire pressure.
  3. Verify that all of the tires are inflated to the proper pressure.

  4. Inspect the fuel level.
  5. The fuel tank should be full.

  6. Inspect the passenger compartment and the trunk in order to verify that no extra weight is in the passenger compartment or trunk.
  7. The trunk must be empty except for the spare tire and jack. On vehicles equipped with Electronic Level Control (ELC), verify that the Electronic Control Level (ELC) operates properly.

  8. Place the front seat into the rear position.
  9. Bounce the vehicle three times at the front and rear in order to normalize the suspension.

  11. Measure the clearance (3) between the centerline of the outboard control arm bolt (1) and the bottom of the control arm wheel bearing face (3).
  12. The clearance (2) should measure 76 to 96 mm (3 to 3 3/4 in) on the Aurora and the Riviera.

  13. Measure the clearance (3) between the centerline of the control arm bolt (1) and the lowest point on the ball joint housing (except the grease fitting) (2).
  14. The clearance (3) should measure 30 to 50 mm (1 3/16 to 2 in) on the Aurora and the Riviera.

  15. Perform the following procedure in order to measure the clearance (1) between the front underbody points (4) and the ground (2).
  16. 9.1. Measure 600 mm (23 1/2 in) rearward from the centerline of the wheel in order to locate the front underbody points (4).
    9.2. Measure the clearance between the front underbody points (4) and the ground (2).

    The clearance should measure 170 to 190 mm (6 11/16 to 7 1/2 in) on the Aurora.

    The clearance should measure 164 to 184 mm (6 7/16 to 7 1/4 in) on the Riviera.

  17. Perform the following procedure in order to measure the clearance (1) between the rear underbody points (4) and the ground (2).
  18. 10.1. Measure 590 mm (23 1/8 in) forward from the centerline of the rear wheel in order to locate the rear underbody points (4).
    10.2. Measure the clearance between the rear underbody points (4) and the ground (2).

    The clearance should measure 219 to 239 mm (8 5/8 to 9 13/32 in).

    The clearance should measure 213 to 233 mm (8 3/8 to 9 3/16 in).

  19. Verify that all of the above clearances measure within the maximum variation from the specified values.
  20. Maximum variation side-to-side and front-to-rear is 19 mm (3/4 in).
