Brake Warning System Circuit Description Buick

The BRAKE indicator located in the instrument cluster is controlled by the following components on circuit 33 (TAN/WHT):

    • When the ignition switch is turned from the RUN to START positions, the ignition switch closes and a low (ground) condition exists at C1 terminal E16 (CKT 33, TAN/WHT).
    • When the park brake is applied, the park brake switch closes and a low (ground) condition exists at C1 terminal E16 (CKT 33, TAN/WHT). If the ignition switch is in the RUN or START positions, the indicator illuminates. A chime sounds, when the body control module (MALL) detects this condition at C2 terminal D3 (CKT 33, TAN/WHT) and a VSS input at C2 terminal C15 (PNK).
    • When the brake fluid level is low, the brake fluid level switch closes and a low (ground) condition exists at C1 terminal E1 6(CKT 33, TAN/WHT). If the ignition switch is in the RUN or START positions, the indicator illuminates. A chime sounds, when the body control module (MALL) detects this condition at C2 terminal D3 (CKT 33, TAN/WHT) and a VSS input at C2 terminal C15 (PNK).

Brake Warning System Circuit Description Oldsmobile

The PARK indicator located in the instrument cluster is controlled by the following components on circuit 33 (TAN/WHT):

    • When the ignition switch is turned from the RUN to START positions, the ignition switch closes and a low (ground) condition exists at terminal A9 (CKT 33, TAN/WHT).
    • When the park brake is applied, the park brake switch closes and a low (ground) condition exists at terminal A9 (CKT 33, TAN/WHT). If the ignition switch is in the RUN or START positions, the indicator illuminates.

When the park brake switch closes a low (ground) condition exists at terminal A9 (CKT 33, TAN/WHT). When the instrument cluster detects this condition and the vehicle detects a VSS input the following functions are performed:

       - The instrument cluster displays the PARK BRAKE SET message on the driver information center.
       - Commands the body control module to activate a chime, via circuit 1845 (LT GRN).

The BRAKE FLUID indicator located in the remote indicator bank is controlled by the following components on circuit 209 (PPL):

    • When the ignition switch is turned from the RUN to START positions, the ignition switch closes and a low (ground) condition exists at terminal A2 (CKT 209, PPL).
    • When the brake fluid level is low, the brake fluid level switch closes and a low (ground) condition exists at terminal A2 (CKT 209, PPL). If the ignition switch is in the RUN or START positions, the indicator illuminates.

When the brake fluid switch closes a low (ground) condition exists at terminal B2 (CKT 209, PPL). When the instrument cluster detects this condition the following functions are performed:

       - The instrument cluster displays the LOW BRAKE FLUID message on the driver information center.
       - Commands the body control module to activate a chime, via circuit 1845 (LT GRN).
