Cigar Lighter

Battery positive voltage (B+) is applied at all times through the IP fuse block C/LTR fuse to the cigar lighter on CKT 1640 (Buick), 1040 (Oldsmobile). When the cigar lighter is pressed in, the cigar lighter heating element is provided a ground path through CKT 150 (Buick), 1050 (Oldsmobile) and heats up. When the heating element reaches a predetermined value, the cigar lighter will pop out, thus interrupting the circuit. There is also a rear cigar lighters (Oldsmobile) located in the rear of the vehicle.

Accessory Power Receptacle -- Buick

Battery postive voltage (B+) is applied through the IP fuse block AUX PWR fuse to the accessory power outlet on CKT 1241. When an accessory is plugged in, it completes the ground path through CKT 150 (BLK).

Accessory Power Receptacle -- Oldsmobile

Battery positive voltage (B+) is applied through the IP fuse block AUX PWR fuse to the accessory power Receptacle on CKT 1241. When an accessory is plugged in, it completes the ground path through CKT 1050 (BLK).
