Emblem/Nameplate Replacement Oldsmobile
- Wash the affected panel area with soap and water.
Wipe the panel area dry.
- Use 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984 or equivalent
in order to remove all traces of adhesive from the following areas:
• | The back of the molding |
- Wipe the panel using a clean cloth and an alcohol and water mixture.
- Using dimensions, use a length of masking tape
or magnetic strip in order to mark the proper position of the emblem/nameplate.
- If the vehicle body temperature is below 21°C (70°F) due
to shop temperature or outside temperature, use one of the following items
in order to warm the body panel:
- If necessary, apply a double-coated acrylic foam tape to the emblem/nameplate
using one of the following 3M Super Automotive Attachment Tapes or equivalent:
• | 3M 06380 (white backing) |
• | 3M 06377 (black backing) |
• | 3M 06382 (gray backing) |
- Align the emblem/nameplate.
Press the emblem/nameplate firmly in place in order to ensure proper
adhesion.
