Front End Panel Replacement Oldsmobile
Removal Procedure
- Remove the lower air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
.
- Remove the 2 bolts retaining the diagonal braces to the
bottom of the radiator opening.
- Remove the 2 push-in retainers that retain the air baffle
to the impact bar.
- Remove the 4 nuts (2) that retain
the outer ends of the front panel (1).
- Remove the front end panel (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the front end panel (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the 4 nuts (2)
in order to retain the outer ends of the front end panel (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts and the nut (2) to 10.5 N·m (93 lb in).
- Install the 2 push-in retainers in order to retain the
air baffle to the impact bar.
- Install the 2 bolts in order to retain the diagonal braces
to the bottom of the radiator opening.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts and the nut (2) to 10.5 N·m (93 lb in).
- Install the lower air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
.

Removal Procedure
- Remove the lower air deflector. Refer to

- Remove the 2 bolts retaining the diagonal braces to the
bottom of the radiator opening.
- Remove the 4 nuts (2)
that retain the outer ends of the front panel (1).
- Remove the front end panel (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the front end
panel (1).
- Install the 4 nuts (2)
in order to retain the outer ends of the front end panel (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts and the nut (2) to 10.5 N·m (93 lb in).
- Install the 2 bolts retaining the diagonal braces to the
bottom of the radiator opening.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts and the nut (2) to 10.5 N·m (93 lb in).
- Install the lower air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
