Power Window Inoperative - Left Side Buick

  1. Disconnect the power window control module connector.
  2. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  3. Use a digital multimeter (DMM) in order to backprobe the power window control module between terminal A (BRN) and ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Connect a DMM between the power window control module connector terminal B (GRY) and ground.
  2. Put the left front window down using the LH front door lock/window switch.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair an open in CKT 141 (BRN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Connect a DMM between the power window control module connector terminal C (DK BLU) and ground.
  2. Use the LH front door lock/window switch to put the left front power window up.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test for an open or a short to ground in CKT 1136 (GRY).

Connect a fuse jumper between the power window control module terminal A (BRN) and terminal D (BRN).

  1. Connect a fuse jumper between the power window control module terminal D (BRN) and ground.
  2. Press the left front window UP switch on the LH front door lock/window switch.

  1. Disconnect the power window control module connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Connect a digital multimeter (DMM) between the power window module connector terminal A (BRN) and ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

  2. Press the left window DOWN switch at the LH front power window switch.

  3. Press the left window UP switch at the left front door power window switch.
