Was the entire Heated Seats System Check performed?

Disconnect the suspect component:

    • LH Oldsmobile: LH seat/lock switch.
    • LH Buick: outside mirror switch.
    • RH Oldsmobile: RH seat/lock switch.
    • RH Buick: RH heated seat switch.

Does the seat cool down?

Go to Step 6

Disconnect the heated seat module connector C2.

Does the seat cool down?

--

Go to Step 7

Test for a short to battery positive voltage (B+) in the wiring from the heated seat module connector C2 cavity A (BLK) to the heated seat back. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is the wiring OK?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 9

Replace the heated seat back. Refer to Front Seat Heater Element Replacement .

Is the heated seat back replacement complete?

Go to Heated Seats System Check

Replace the suspect switch:

    • LH Oldsmobile: LH seat/lock switch.
    • LH Buick: outside mirror switch.
    • RH Oldsmobile: RH seat/lock switch.
    • RH Buick: RH heated seat switch.

Is the switch replacement complete?

Test for a short to ground in CKT 1462 (LT BLU) (LH) or CKT 1505 (LT BLU/BLK) (RH). Refer to Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 1462 or CKT 1505 OK?

Replace the heated seat module.

Is the heated seat module replacement complete?

Repair the suspect wiring. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
