Power Seat Does Not Recline Buick

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Using a test lamp, backprobe the seat recline motor connector from cavity B (LT GRN) to ground.
  3. Move the recline switch forward.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Inspect CKT 276 (LT GRN) (LH) or CKT 76 (DK GRN) (RH) for an open between the seat switch and the seat recline motor. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 276 or CKT 76 OK?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 8

Replace the seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Is the seat switch replacement complete?

--

Go to Power Seats System Check

  1. Using a test lamp, backprobe the seat recline motor connector from cavity B (LT BLU) to ground.
  2. Move the recline switch back.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Inspect CKT 277 (LT BLU) (LH) or CKT 77 (DK BLU) (RH) for an open between the seat switch and the seat recline motor. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 277 or CKT 77 OK?

Replace the seat recline motor. Refer to Front Seat Recliner Actuator Motor Replacement .

Is the seat recline motor replacement complete?

Repair the suspect circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

  2. Move the recline switch forward.

  2. Move the recline switch back.

Repair the open in CKT 77 (DK BLU) between the RH seat switch and the RH seat recline motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 76 (DK GRN) between the RH seat switch and the RH seat recline motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
