Was the entire Oldsmobile Lumbar System Check performed?

Go to Lumbar Support System Check

1. Disconnect the lumbar seat module connector C1.
2. Connect a DMM from the lumbar seat module connector C1 cavity D (PPL) (LH) or cavity F (PPL) (RH) to ground.
3. Operate the lower inflate switch.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10 - 15 V

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 5

Connect a DMM from the lumbar seat module connector C1 cavity B (GRY) (LH) or cavity C (GRY) (RH) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10 - 15 V

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

Replace the lumbar seat module.

Is the lumbar seat module replacement complete?

Go to Lumbar Support System Check

Test CKT 385 (PPL) (LH) or CKT 759 (PPL) (RH) for an open between the seat lock switch and the lumbar seat module. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 385 or CKT 759 OK?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 8

Test CKT 388 (GRY) (LH) or CKT 758 (GRY) (RH) for an open between the seat lock switch and the lumbar seat module. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 388 or CKT 758 OK?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Replace the seat/lock switch.

Is the seat/lock switch replacement complete?

Go to Lumbar Support System Check

Repair the suspect circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
