Removal Procedure

  1. The roof panel is made of steel. The roof panel boneds to the steel roof structure with 2 beads fo adhesive. Use conventional procedures in order to repair the foor outer panel.
  2. Important: Use care when cutting in order to protect the adjacent panels, glass, weather strips and moldings. Ensure that you cut the inboard of the roof structure. The Oldsmobile has an additional roof bow at the rear of the vehicle.

  3. Remove the headliner.
  4. Remove the roof mounting screws.
  5. After removing the roof panel (1), cut approximately 75 mm (3 in) from the underlying structure and lift off the panel.
  6. Cut the adhesive (2) with a suitable tool.
  7. Remove the remaining portions of the panel.
  8. Remove all of the loose adhesive as needed.
