Subject: | Radio Time Display Stuck at 12:00 When Vehicle is Started and Driver Information Center (DIC) Display May Be Blank (Replace DIC Display Module) |
Models: | 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora |
Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint HX14117540 |
Some customers may comment that when the vehicle is started, the radio clock display is stuck at 12:00 and that they are unable to change it. Also the Driver Information Center (DIC) display may or may not be blank.
Additional customer comments may include that the next time the vehicle is started, the condition may no longer exist. However, the vehicle may not be in the desired DIC display mode (English/metric) and the time will be incorrect if an effort to reset the clock was attempted earlier.
Important: The desired DIC display mode (English/metric) may be changed by pushing the ON/OFF DIC button down for 5 seconds with the system on or off.
This condition may be due to an interruption of power to the DIC's display and class 2 communication. With no DIC class 2 communication, the radio does not receive the time information and displays 12:00.
Replace the DIC display module.
