Removal Procedure
Important: Sectioning procedures are used to repair the rear floor. The rear floor
service part comes pre-cut to the appropriate size for sectioning. It does
not need to be modified.
- Visually inspect and restore
as much of the damage as possible to factory specifications.
- Remove all related panels and components.
- Cut the rear floor along the rearward edge of the crossbar. Be
careful not to cut the crossbar or rear rails.
- Remove the damaged section of the rear floor.
- Locate, mark and drill out all factory welds rearward of the crossbar
connecting the rear rails.
Installation Procedure
- Position the new floor
section on top of the original floor.
- Check the fit according to body specifications and plug weld accordingly.
- Clean and prepare welded surfaces.
Important: Prior to refinishing, refer to publication GM 4901M-D-2000 GM
Approved Refinish Materials for recommended products. Do not combine paint
systems. Refer to paint manufacturer's recommendations.
- Apply sealers and corrosion protection materials, as necessary.
- Prime with 2-part catalyzed primer. Do not combine paints systems.
Refer to paint manufacturer's recommendations.
- Install all related components.
