Removal Procedure
- Remove the overhead console.
Refer to
Roof Console Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Disconnect the electrical connector (4).
- Remove the fasteners (3) securing the garage door opener (5)
to the overhead console.
- Remove the garage door opener (5) from the overhead console.
Installation Procedure
- Place the garage door
opener (5) into the overhead console. Ensure the garage door openers
are placed correctly in their designated openings.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fasteners (3)
in order to secure the garage door opener (5) to the overhead console.
Tighten
Tighten the garage door opener fasteners (3) to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connector (4) to the garage door
opener.
- Install the overhead console. Refer to
Roof Console Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Program the garage door openers. Refer to
Garage Door Opener Programming - Universal
