02 - 03 Olds Aurora Navigation Radio DTC B0004 - kw UM8

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

The 2002 Aurora equipped with UM8 navigation radio may inadvertently set a DTC B0004. This DTC is for factory use only to determine if the vehicle speed signal wire was correctly connected and should have been turned off before leaving the factory. The DTC will reset when the vehicle speed is detected for 2.5 miles. There is a procedure located in the Tech 2 to turn the code off.

To turn DTC B0004 off with the Tech 2:

Build Vehicle

F1: Body

Navigation Radio

F2: Special Functions

F1: Set Options

F1: DTC Mask

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
