Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.

  3. Object Number: 661188  Size: SH
  4. Remove the access plate covering the back of the switch.

  5. Object Number: 661190  Size: SH
  6. Remove the cruise control lever retaining screws (1).
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 661190  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector.
  2. Position the cruise control lever (2) in the opening on the steering wheel.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the cruise control lever retaining screws (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.30 N·m (20 lb in).

  6. Install the access plate.
  7. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  8. Enable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
