INCORRECT WHEEL NUTS USED TO ATTACH OUTSIDE SPARE TIRE. Oldsmobile Bravada 1991

THIS BULLETIN IS DESIGNED TO BE A DCS MESSAGE TO OLDSMOBILE DEALERS ONLY. THIS CONDITION AFFECTS OLDSMOBILE BRAVADA ONLY.

SOME 1991 BRAVADA MODELS MAY HAVE HAD THE WRONG ATTACHMENT WHEEL NUTS INSTALLED FOR THE OUTSIDE SPARE WHEEL AND TIRE (RPO P16). IF THE NUTS ARE BLACK IN COLOR, THEY ARE FOR STEEL WHEEL APPLICATIONS AND CAN DAMAGE THE BRAVADA ALUMINUM WHEEL.

THE CORRECT NUTS (P/N 12337896) ARE A BRASS COLOR AND INCORPORATE A DIFFERENT CHAMFER AT THE WHEEL MATING SURFACE. MAKE CERTAIN THESE NUTS ARE BEING USED. THREE NUTS ARE NEEDED TO MOUNT THE SPARE TIRE AND WHEEL ON THE BRAVADA WITH RPO P16. PARTS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FROM GMSPO.
