ELECTRONIC DIGITAL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/REPAIR REPLACEMENT

MODELS/YEARS: 1987 CALAIS

If a malfunctioning Electronic Digital Cluster is encountered, the following procedure has been established for obtaining a replacement unit for both warranty and non-warranty. Replacement units due to damage (collision, etc.) should be obtained through WDDGM.

1. Call the toll free number given below and place your order including the owner information, dealer information and vehicle information. Calls may be placed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The order will be shipped to the dealership prepaid VIA UPS unless dealership specifies differently such as UPS Next Day Air, Federal Express, etc. The dealer will be invoiced by Nippondenso for the cluster, which includes a core charge. The charges will be approximately $150.00 plus $500.00 core charge. All units shipped by Nippondenso will be identified as rebuilt.

2. The form enclosed with the new cluster is to be completed and returned along with a copy of the repair order and the malfunctioning electronic digital cluster to:

Special care shouid be exercised when packaging the electronic cluster in the returnable container to prevent damage in transit. Failure to return the cluster in the special reusable container may result in a $10.00 container replacement fee.

3. Nippondenso will provide core charge reimbursement to the dealer upon receipt of the malfunctioning electronic cluster. Oldsmobile will not reimburse a dealer for the core charge amount on a warranty claim.

4. Oldsmobile will reimburse dealers for this repair during the warranty period under the normal warranty claim submission process. An additional 0.2 hour administrative allowance will be paid if applied for. This additional time should be added to the published time allowance in the Labor Time Guide and entered in the "Labor Hours" column of the Warranty Claim form.
