The following information will Supplement the Claim Information Section of Emission Campaign Bulletin 87-E-01.
When the mass air flow sensor is replaced, using labor operation V3611, a parts allowance of $41.16 (30% of the dealer price of the "furnished" mass air flow sonsor) may be applied for in the parts allowance column of the warranty claim. The part count must be "1" and the failed part number listed as 25007834 for a Delta 88, Ninety-Eight or Calais, or 25007835 for a Cutlass Ciera.
Dealers that have already submitted claims and been paid for mass air flow sensor replacement (Labor Operation V3611) without requesting 30% of the dealer price of the "furnished" mass air flow sensor, may resubmit for the parts allowance as follows:
Resubmit claim using Labor Operation V3611. List dollar amount in the parts allowance column of the Warranty Claim. Do not list labor. Zone authorization will not be required. These claims must be received by Oldsmobile prior to November 7, 1986. After that date, NO SUCH ADDITIONAL CREDIT WILL BE ISSUED. This does not apply to campaign completions where only an inspection is performed.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
