ENGINE SURGE CONDITION NEW EGR VALVE & PROM

MODELS/YEARS 1989 CUTLASS CALAIS W/2.5L ENGINE

This bulletin cancels and replaces Dealer Technical Bulletin 89-T-147 which should be discarded. This revision changes the PROM part number for the automatic transmission.

Some owners of 1989 Cutlass Calais may comment of a highway engine surge condition. This condition may be repaired with the installation of a new EGR Valve Package, P/N 17112238. A new calibration PROM must be installed with the EGR valve package as a set. The new Calibration PROM is identified as follows:
