ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER EXCHANGE PROCEDURE UPDATED

MODELS/YEARS: 1987 CUTLASS CIERA & TORONADO

The Electronic Instrument Panel Cluster in the Cutlass Ciera (Option U52) and Toronado is warranted under the "New Car Limited Warranty."

If a malfunctioning electronic cluster is encountered, the following procedure has been established for obtaining a replacement unit for both warranty and non-warranty.

1. Call toll free number (800) 421-8108 (Michigan dealers (800) 421-0174) and place your order by part number. Calls may be placed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The order will be shipped to the dealership prepaid VIA UPS uniess dealership specifies differently such as UPS Next Day Air, Federal Express, etc. The dealer will be invoiced by American Yazaki Corporation for the cluster, which includes a core charge. The charges will be approximately $85.00 plus $100.00 core charge for the Cutlass Ciera. The Toronado charges will be $95.00 plus $150.00 core charge. All units shipped by Yazaki will be identified as rebuilt.

2. The packing slip form enclosed with the new cluster is to be completed and returned along with a copy of the repair order and the malfunctioning electronic cluster to:

Special care should be exercised when packaging the electronic cluster to provent damage in transit. Failure to return the cluster in the special reusable container may result in a $10.00 container replacement fee.

3. American Yazaki will provide core charge reimbursement to the dealer upon receipt of the malfunctioning electronic cluster. Oldsmobile will not reimburse a dealer for the core charge amount on a warranty claim.

4. Oldsmobile will reimburse dealers for this repair during the warranty period under the normal warranty claim submission process. An additional 0.2 hour administrative allowance will be paid if applied for. This additional time should be added to the published time allowance in the Labor Time Guide and entered in the "Labor Hours" column of the Oldsmobile Warranty Claim form.
