This bulletin cancels and replaces Dealer Technical Bulletin 91-T-71, which should be discarded.
CONDITION: Ashtray mounted in instrument panel inoperative.
CAUSE: 1. Release spring and/or retainer broken. 2. Latch mounting bracket bent.
CORRECTION: 1. For 1988 through 1990 models replace complete assembly with new P/N 10 1 52934.
For 1991 models the new ashtray assembly is serviced in three pieces: See the illustration on the back of this bulletin.

Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
2. Bend metal bracket slightly (i mm) to right as shown in the illustration. Open and Close the ashtray several times to insure proper operation.
